We are so grateful for the many photos we took of our daughter Melody. We took pictures almost everyday of her life.  Some days she was doing very poorly and we were not sure if that day might be her last day here on earth and other days we were celebrating her life and accomplishments. We also took a video clip of Melody almost every day of her life and this became her journal documenting all the ups and downs on her roller coaster journey.  The staff at the hospitals sometimes thought I was crazy taking so many pictures, but now I am so happy for each and every one of those pictures and video moments. I thought I would share just a sampling of the photos taken of my beautiful sweetheart, Melody!

Melody spent the first week of life in very critical condition and was usually under the bili-light so we did not get to see very much of her.  The pictures above were taken at 9-11 days old.  Melody was so cute with her pink hat...she was having trouble regulating her temperature and needed at hat to help keep her tiny body warm. I am utterly exhausted in the picture on the right but this picture is meaningful to me because it is the first time I was able to do any of Melody's hands on care. I was afraid to touch her because she is so tiny and frail. She lost weight as was down as low as 13 ounces. The green gloves really help to show the perspective of how very tiny she was in comparison to my hands.

Mom and Dad spent many hours peering into Melody's isolette!

Benjamin is big brother peeking in on little sister and Grandma and Grandpa Graff come to visit!

Prayer, Prayer, Prayer...we spent many hours in prayer on behalf of our daughter, Melody.  Many people and churches lifted her life to Christ in prayer, these people were from all over the world!!

Melody's intestines have ruptured...she is failing and is taken to emergency surgery on day 25!

Our first family photo on leap day -29 days old! Big brother is missing.

Benjamin loves his little sister Melody but it is hard for him to see her with her tubes!

Melody has gone into renal failure...several times with her kidneys shutting down on and off for 3-4 days at a time so she is swelling rapidly.  This day however she is exceptionally responsive to us and our love and attention. Her kidneys are working again and we get to perform alot of her care ...this is a memorable day for us as we enjoy the time with our daughter!
